Something to consider before asking an agent to represent you...

Does he/she have access to the MLS (multiple listing service)?   If not, they may not know all the properties available in a given area.  You might miss out on that "quick selling" listing.  Some lake shore properties and foreclosures sell within a few days. The MLS also gives agents the tools they need to help you decide on the value of a home.
